About the role
Hard Landscaper — Oxfordshire and surrounding counties. Self-employed profit-share role, not a wage. You keep 25% of every job KJ Landscaping routes to you. We survey and price with the client; you receive a spec'd job with drawing, material list and access confirmed. You'll be sent to patios, garden walls, steps, sleeper features, timber and composite fencing, garden drainage runs, and hard-standing installs. Most jobs are 3–8 days on site; larger garden makeovers run 2–3 weeks with a labourer. Jobs are dispatched via the KJ portal with the drawing, materials schedule, delivery slots and any tree/drain caveats already agreed with the client. Tickets are typically £2,500–£15,000+. Suits an experienced hard landscaper with own plant (whacker plate, disc cutter, hand tools; mini digger a plus) and van/trailer. Not for soft-landscape-only gardeners — that pipeline sits with the KJ Domestic Gardener role.

- Excavate, sub-base and lay patios in Indian sandstone, porcelain and natural stone
- Build garden walls in brick, block and stone to spec
- Install steps, sleeper features and raised beds
- Erect timber and composite fencing with concrete posts

- Manage a labourer on larger jobs
- Photo-document each stage in the KJ portal
- Flag scope surprises back to KJ before proceeding

- Own plate compactor, disc cutter, hand tools
- Access to a mini digger (own or hire)
- Full UK driving licence, trailer entitlement a plus

How working with KJ actually works
From apply to first paid job — four honest steps
- 1
Apply in 60 secs
One tap on this page. No CV wall, no cover letter. Just your name, trade and coverage area.
- 2
Sign your KJ contract
Plain-English self-employed profit-share agreement — 25–50% of job value depending on the role. E-signed. No tie-in, no exclusivity trap.
- 3
Log in to the KJ Portal
See the jobs allocated to you: address, scope, customer notes, agreed price. Accept the ones you want, decline the ones you don't.
- 4
Do the work, get paid your share
Complete the job, mark it done in the portal. KJ invoices the customer. Your share lands on the regular payment cycle — no chasing, no unpaid quotes.
The KJ Portal is rolling out through 2026 — until then, early hires are onboarded and dispatched directly by the KJ ops team. Same profit-share, same transparency.
Why KJ, not a company job
A plumber does 3–4 jobs a day; a surveyor 2–4; a solicitor a handful of matters. The client pays hundreds — often thousands. You take home a fraction. The company keeps the rest.
