About the role
Recruitment Consultant — Birmingham and West Midlands. Self-employed profit-share role, not a wage. You keep 30% of every placement fee KJ Employment routes through your desk. We give you a defined patch (professional or trade vertical) with warm KJ Group client access; you run a 360 desk. You'll cover candidate sourcing, screening and prep, client business development, job spec taking, shortlist submission, interview coordination, offer negotiation and after-care. Your desk is aligned to one of KJ's core professional or trade verticals (electrical, healthcare, immigration, legal, or trades — agreed on onboarding). Roles and clients sit in the KJ portal with pipeline, candidate stage and fee position visible. Placement fees average £3,000–£8,000 depending on desk, so on a 30% share every placement is a real earn — the calculator above illustrates monthly ranges at realistic placement volumes. Suits an experienced 360 recruiter who wants to keep more of what they bill without the overhead of running their own agency. Not for a rookie resourcer — this is a delivery-and-BD role.

- Coordinate interviews, feedback loops and offer negotiation
- Manage after-care through the rebate period
- Keep the CRM (KJ portal) clean — every candidate, client, activity logged
- Represent KJ credibly at industry events and on LinkedIn
Requirements
- Time-served 360 recruitment experience in one of the KJ verticals
- Right to work in the UK
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Own laptop and phone setup
- REC / TEAM code-of-conduct awareness

How working with KJ actually works
From apply to first paid job — four honest steps
- 1
Apply in 60 secs
One tap on this page. No CV wall, no cover letter. Just your name, trade and coverage area.
- 2
Sign your KJ contract
Plain-English self-employed profit-share agreement — 25–50% of job value depending on the role. E-signed. No tie-in, no exclusivity trap.
- 3
Log in to the KJ Portal
See the jobs allocated to you: address, scope, customer notes, agreed price. Accept the ones you want, decline the ones you don't.
- 4
Do the work, get paid your share
Complete the job, mark it done in the portal. KJ invoices the customer. Your share lands on the regular payment cycle — no chasing, no unpaid quotes.
The KJ Portal is rolling out through 2026 — until then, early hires are onboarded and dispatched directly by the KJ ops team. Same profit-share, same transparency.
Why KJ, not a company job
A plumber does 3–4 jobs a day; a surveyor 2–4; a solicitor a handful of matters. The client pays hundreds — often thousands. You take home a fraction. The company keeps the rest.
